Boko Haram abducts 18 in Cameroon’s Far North region

Several security sources on Friday said eighteen civilians have been kidnapped by the terror group Boko Haram in raids in Cameroon’s Far North region.

Sources said the terrorists stormed several localities of the region, looted foodstuffs, and abducted 18 men and women.

According to local authorities, the Cameroon army is conducting a rescue mission to secure the safe release of the hostages. Read more

NIDCOM condemned the attack in a statement by the Chairman/CEO, NIDCOM, Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa on Friday.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo says culture and tourism in the new world order are referred to as soft power because of their influence in economic and international relations.

52-year-old man buried alive for few minutes at construction site dies after rescue

Police describe Raji’s death as unnatural.

Isiaka Raji, a 52-year-old man was reportedly buried alive for few minutes while excavating sand at a construction site in Ejigbo, Osun State.

According to Punch, Raji was later rescued alive from the sand but was later confirmed dead at a hospital where he was rushed to for treatment.

A source, who spoke to the newspaper on condition of anonymity said, the incident occurred around 2 pm on Wednesday, December 4, 2019. Read more

Chrome Canary will soon let you send webpages to your phone via QR code

  • Chrome Canary just received a new way of sharing webpages with your phone.
  • The experimental new flag generates a QR code for the URL of any page you are visiting.
  • You can scan the code using your smartphone to access the page.

While you can already send webpages from your PC to your phone — and vice versa — on Chrome, that currently requires you to be logged in to your Google account on both devices. It also requires the use of the Chrome browser on both ends.
